20 Most Rewatchable Horror Movies Of All Time

12. Alien (1979)

The Shining Jack Nicholson
20th Century Studios

When it comes to the cross-genre of science fiction and horror, Alien is the ultimate masterpiece. I don’t believe there’s one single element of the film which I can take fault to. Ridley Scott proved himself as one of the greatest movie directors with this feature alone – the effects don't age, the cast is perfect, the setting is detailed and fully realised, the narrative is extraordinary and most importantly, it is masterfully suspenseful.

Set in the future, the story sees a space crew on their way back to earth but are doomed for the worst when they receive a distress call from an alien. They are about to take on the most terrifying creature they’ll ever encounter and what’s left over is a violent tale of who can survive the unstoppable creature.

No matter how many times you watch it, Alien never loses its impact and continuously remains a stirring adventure of survival and peril.
