20 Most Ridiculous Movie Promotional Images Ever Released
6. Last Action Hero (1993)
Arnold Schwarzeneggers Last Action Hero is widely known as one of the most poorly marketed movies of all time. The ad campaign for the film was muddled and quite confusing. But digging deeper and you can see that it was a chronically screwed up campaign from the very beginning. The advertising failed the movie on an almost cellular level. This cannot be overstated. The marketing people were ambitious, trying for valiant new directions that would create maximum impact and missed the mark completely. This included lame attempts at satirical over-the-top masochism such as a giant inflatable Arnold that they erected in Times Square, an actual rocket carrying the "Last Action Hero" ad and the above image featuring Arnold trying way too hard to appear like he's not trying at all.
5. Good Luck Chuck (2007)
A theatrical poster featuring Dane Cook and Jessica Alba that parodies the well-known Rolling Stone cover photographed by Annie Leibovitz featuring John Lennon and Yoko Ono? Sounds hilarious right? Well, not really. First off, it's pretty clear that these two guys didn't actually shoot this together (and we totally don't blame Alba for that). Therefore, this poster is simply an embarrassment to the entire terrible Photoshop community. Also, theres really nothing here that convinces us or even entices us about the film; Alba is looking off into the distance like she has just been knocked out with chloroform and Cook is just looking at her like the weirdo that he is. It doesn't exactly make their relationship clear. It would be nice if we got some sort of romantic chemistry conveyed but alas, that simply was not the case.
