Why It's Hated: There's so much hate out for this movie and, to be honest, it's hard to understand why. Sure, it's a fairly by-the-numbers superhero origin story and the tone is all over the place, but is it really that easy to despise?

Ben Affleck is frequently torn down for his performance here, and while he's hardly good as such, it's just fashionable to pluck the low-hanging fruit and rag on his work.

Why It's Unfair: Daredevil has morphed into a cult favourite of sorts thanks to the home video release of the Director's Cut, which restores roughly 30 minutes of material and gives it an R-rating.

Even the theatrical version still has exciting action sequences and a show-stealing Michael Clarke Duncan as the villainous Kingpin, though. It's really not that bad, guys: your hate is better spent elsewhere.
