20 Most Unfairly Hated Movies Of The 21st Century
13. The Matrix Revolutions (2003)
Why It's Hated: Because the chasm in quality between the first and third Matrix movies is so high that it must mean the finale is an absolute disaster, right?
If there's one fair criticism fans have of the movie, it's that it doesn't bring Neo's story to a close in a remotely satisfying way. Even so, should that sink the entire movie beyond any standard of entertainment?
Why It's Unfair: As a pure action flick, it still delivers entrancing visuals and a visceral cinematic experience, and while the ending is undeniably disappointing, it isn't enough to completely undo the appeal of the Zion battle sequence in particular.
It could and should have been much better, yes, but with a little perspective, it's easy to see that it's really not a bad film at all. It just pales hugely compared to both the original and the underrated Reloaded.
