19. Darth Maul Lives - Solo: A Star Wars Story

By far the most shocking yet crowd-pleasing moment of fan service in Solo was the surprise appearance of Darth Maul (Ray Park) in the film's final moments.

After Q'ira (Emilia Clarke) kills the villainous Dryden Vos (Paul Bettany) and departs from Han (Alden Ehrenreich) and Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo), she takes Vos' place in the criminal outfit Crimson Dawn and calls up her boss.

Her boss just so happens to be a hooded figure who soon enough reveals himself to be Maul. She lays out her version of what just transpired, and Maul orders her to meet him on his home planet Dothamir. He tells her, "You and I will be working much more closely from now on."

Granted, if you're not swotted up on your Star Wars lore this was probably a pretty confusing moment given Maul's apparent demise in The Phantom Menace, but indeed, he lives (robot legs and all).

It's a shame the Solo sequels have presumably been cancelled, though, because seeing more of Maul in this universe would've been a lot of fun.
