17. The Shot Inside Tom Holland's Colon - Cherry
The Russo brothers' Cherry was a sure disappointment, yet was absolutely packed with eyebrow-raising stylistic and tonal choices that ensured it was anything but boring.
By far the most bizarre moment in the movie occurs when Cherry (Tom Holland) enlists in the Army and undergoes the usual medical, including a rectal exam.
Cue the Russos cutting to a shot captured from deep within Cherry's colon, as the doctor shines a light through his back passage to check that everything's tip-top.
While clearly intended to be both stylish and funny, the shot was ultimately more strange and offputting than anything. A swing and a miss, as they say.
