13. Eros & Pip The Troll Show Up - Eternals
Eternals may have ultimately been a considerable disappointment, but it at least lays claim to one of the weirdest and most unexpected credits scenes in the MCU's history.
The mid-credits scene sees Thena (Angelina Jolie), Makkari (Lauren Ridloff), and Druig (Barry Keoghan) onboard their spaceship when they're suddenly faced with the unexpected arrival of two classic Marvel characters - Pip the Troll (Patton Oswalt) and Thanos' brother Eros aka Starfox (Harry Styles), an Eternal himself.
The scene is doubly weird - for starters, Pip's CGI rendering is extremely rough and looks like something you'd see in a 10-year-old video game cutscene. Presumably the VFX team was rushing to get the shot completed in time for release.
Somehow even more WTF was the fact that Eros was played by Harry Styles of all people. That's not to question the guy's acting chops - he was solid in Dunkirk - but that casting a pop-megastar in the role of Thanos' brother is just a teensy bit surprising, that's all.
At present it remains to be seen whether Styles will have a major role in the future of the MCU or not, but given that he vows to help the Eternals during the scene, it's looking pretty likely.
