The Film

After the 2006 straight-to-DVD disaster that was I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer, the franchise that launched in 1997 with a great young cast died a well-earned death.

But now Oculus director Mike Flanagan is looking to revive the series: in 2014 it was announced that he and Jeff Howard will script, and then in 2016 he reiterated that it would be a reimagining and that the original characters and villain from the book won't be included. It was allegedly being pushed towards a 2017 release.

Unless it's being sneaked out of course?

Is It A Good Idea?

The slasher train has well and truly left the station, and if there's one thing Scream 4 proved, it's that they just don't update very well.

And looking at the horror genre at the minute, it's really not the kind of thing that will do well. Still, maybe the reimagining will be so wildly different that it will surprise everyone?
