20 Movie Sequels That Are Totally Flawless

With the rise of the MCU over the last decade, it really feels like a lifetime ago that Tobey Maguire was swinging between the buildings of New York City as everyone's friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, but despite where Spidey has since ended up, Spider-Man 2 remains his best live-action outing.

Pitting Peter Parker against the villainous Doctor Octopus, the sequel carries on the drama set in motion in the previous film, as Peter tries to balance his personal life with his superhero responsibilities, and Harry Osbourne goes on the warpath to avenge his father's death.

With more action than ever and a deeper emotional core than the character has ever been afforded before or since, Spider-Man 2 finds the titular hero horribly out of his element and forced to put everything on the table to save his family and friends. Spider-Man peaked here, and the less said about the threequel the better.
