20 Movie Sequels That Must Be Announced In 2015

15. Spaceballs 2: The Search For More Money

Previous Film: Mel Brooks' hilarious 1987 Star Wars spoof needs no introduction, and has endured over the decades as a supreme cult classic. Unapologetically daft and jam-packed with a great cast, this is one of the more memorable send-ups of the iconic sci-fi series' and possibly Brooks' most recognised film. Why It Needs To Happen: Because the original movie even teased the prospect of a sequel itself, entitled "The Search for More Money", a seemingly throwaway line that fans took seriously because they enjoyed the film so much. Plus, Mel Brooks is 88 years old, and while he probably wouldn't direct it at his age, it'd be awesome if he got to see the movie made in his lifetime. Current Status: The project has languished in various stages for over a decade, and Brooks recently announced that he was working on the film, hoping to get Rick Moranis (who has since retired from acting) to return as Dark Helmet. Even so, this one's a real long shot, and if Brooks dies any time soon, it'll be even less likely.
