Chris Hemsworth and director Sam Hargrave are already confirmed to return for what the streamer hopes will be the first in a line of sequels and even potentially part of an interconnected cinematic universe.
With the Russos aiming to get shooting started by this fall - pending Hemsworth's busy schedule - a late 2022 bow for the film makes total sense.
Given that Hemsworth will have wrapped production on Thor: Love and Thunder by the summer, the scheduling gods should allow Extraction 2 to get before cameras on time.
