20 Movie Sequels You Didn't Know Were Coming In 2022

It's been 28 years (!) since Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit hit screens and promptly tanked at the box office, killing any further franchise potential overnight.

But nostalgia is one hell of a drug, resulting in various discussions about possible remakes and sequel projects in recent years, until the threequel was formally confirmed in December 2018 as a direct-to-Disney+ movie.

Whoopi Goldberg is returning to reprise her role of Deloris Van Cartier, while Tyler Perry joined to produce the film last December.

No director or extended cast have been announced for the project yet, though with the sequel now in pre-production, we'll probably get word soon enough.
