Despite receiving wildly mixed reviews from critics, Robert Rodriguez's Netflix superhero film We Can Be Heroes was watched by 53 million households during its first four weeks on release at the end of last year.
Unsurprisingly, this resulted in the streamer quickly confirming development of a sequel.
No official release date has yet been announced, but with Rodriguez already hard at work penning the sequel, it's extremely likely that it begins shooting over the summer and lands on Netflix in late 2022, more or less following the production pattern of its predecessor.
