20 Movie Sequels You Didn't Know Were Coming In 2022

Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde was released all the way back in 2003, long enough that many fans had written off the prospect of a third film ever being made.

But for better or worse, belated, nostalgia-baiting comedy sequels are all the rage right now, and in 2018 it was confirmed that Legally Blonde 3 was indeed in the works, with Reese Witherspoon set to reprise the iconic role of lawyer Elle Woods.

Though production was ultimately delayed by COVID-19, the great Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor have penned the script, while late last year MGM confirmed a May 2022 release date.

While a Legally Blonde sequel clearly won't need a lengthy post-production period given its general lack of visual effects, shooting will need to get underway by the end of the summer to make that release date.

Still, it seems rather unlikely the film misses 2022 all together at this rate.
