20 Movie Villains We Couldn't Help But Love

4. Norman Stansfield (Leon: The Professional)

leon Gary Oldman has made strides over the last few decades in the acting world, now widely considered to be one of the best in his field working today. He recently received an Academy Award for his nomination as the stoic George Smiley in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. But Oldman is well-known for demonstrating a marked diversity throughout his career, first making a name for himself playing bassist Sid Vicious, a man with nearly nothing in common with the reserved Mr. Smiley. In Luc Besson's Leon: The Professional, Oldman plays the crooked drug enforcement officer Norman Stansfield. After brutally killing the girl Mathilde's entire family (including her 4-year-old brother), Stansfield goes after Mathilde and Leon, who has taken the child under his wing. Stansfield's corruption and complete willingness to kill children in order to maintain his lifestyle of casual drug use and abuse of power make him a true monster. Why We Can't Help But Love Him: Few people take as much joy in the simple pleasures of life as Stansfield takes in being evil scum. I don't think I've ever seen anyone as happy as that man was popping pills in the hallway.
