20 Movie Villains Who Were Unbelievably Petty

Here we have the second Spider-Man villain on this list, after Topher Grace's Eddie Brock, and the second antagonist created by Tony Stark, the man who would manipulate not only Peter Parker (Tom Holland), but the entire world in the wake of losing their best defender.

Initially appearing as a hero, helping Spider-Man and S.H.I.E.L.D. when the Water Elemental supposedly attacked in Venice, Quentin Beck posed as a multiverse-travelling saviour, was quickly named Mysterio by the media, and became a new father figure for Peter to look up to. In the wake of Tony's death, Spidey fell for Beck's illusions hook, line, and sinker.

Jake Gyllenhaal's character wasn't in fact from another universe (though somehow he knew that this Earth was designated 616), but was instead a tech genius who, like Aldrich Killian, held a hateful grudge against Stark. This time, it wasn't because Tony left Beck stranded in the cold, as Tony didn't even know who Beck was, which was arguably kind of the point.

Quentin Beck didn't feel appreciated and felt Stark unworthy of his money, power, and technology - a feeling shared by his entire team - but the biggest thing that ate Quentin up was that his former boss renamed his revolutionary holographic system B.A.R.F.
