20 Movies Released In 2015 Guaranteed To Win Awards

18. Child 44

Release date: April 17th What's it about? Adapted from Tom Rob Smith's novel of the same name, this is a potentially disturbing thriller about a disgraced MGB Agent called Leo Demidov (Tom Hardy), who is tasked with investigating a series of gruesome child murders in the heart of Stalin's Russia. What makes it award-worthy? Ridley Scott may have dropped out of the production, although with his movies seeming to deteriorate in quality recently this may actually give Child 44 a better chance of success when it comes to picking up awards. The real promise lies in the stars - Hardy's upward spiral as a performer is sure to lead him towards something truly special and Child 44 might just be it, while Gary Oldman in a supporting role all but guarantees the film will be impeccably acted.
