16. Yeh Din Ka Kissa – Emma Thompson
Indie director Noah Baumbach’s next movie Yeh Din Ka Kissa will be a comedy drama that tells the tale of an estranged New York family who come together to celebrate the retrospective of artist patriarch Harold’s career.
As with many Baumbach projects, the details of the movie are pretty
hush-hush at the moment but Sybill Trelawney actress Emma Thompson is expected
to star as the family’s matriarch, a character she’s described as a ‘dreadful,
passive-aggressive alcoholic’. It’s rumoured that Dustin Hoffman will be
playing the role of Harold and Ben Stiller and Adam Sandler – rather
unfortunately, considering he’s like a kiss of death for movies these days –
are expected to star as the couple’s sons.
Funnily enough, this won’t be the first time Dustin Hoffman has played daddy to Stiller and Sandler. He played Stiller’s father in comedy Meet the Fockers and its follow up Little Fockers and played Sandler’s dad in 2014 box office bomb The Cobbler.
