15. Victoria And Abdul – Michael Gambon
Forthcoming BBC Films flick Victoria and Abdul is a
biographical drama that focuses on the unlikely and controversial friendship that
celebrated British monarch Queen Victoria struck up with her Indian royal
servant, Abdul Karim. Judi Dench, who gave an award-winning turn as the monarch
in the 1997 film Mrs Brown, will play Queen Victoria for a second time and
Bollywood star Ali Fazal will play her confidante Abdul.
Michael Gambon, who took over the role of Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter franchise following the death of original actor Richard Harris (and upped the volume and aggression levels of the character considerably), is also set to star in Victoria and Abdul.
His role has yet to be announced but considering he’s previously played royals including William the Conqueror, King Richard III and King Edward VII, he should bring more than enough experience to any character in the movie.
