20 Movies That Prove 2022 Is The Best Year For Horror EVER

Fresh is another one of those horrors you're best off watching while knowing as little as possible, even if Mimi Cave's nightmarish plunge into the contemporary dating scene has been dissected to death on social media in recent months.

Rising star Daisy Edgar-Jones is excellent as Noa, a young woman jaded by the dating scene until she has a chance encounter at the supermarket with handsome stranger Steve (Sebastian Stan), and before you know it, the pair are totally loved-up.

Unsurprisingly there's far more to Steve than meets the eye, and bar a few pacing hiccups, Cave relishes slow-bleeding the grim reality of this ill-fated hookup.

If Edgar-Jones is remarkable as Noa, it's Stan who steals the show in a villainous performance quite unlike anything we've ever seen from him before.
