20 Movies That Will Kick Ass In 2018
6. BlacKkKlansman
While Spike Lee hasn't been on the best form as of late, his latest joint is set to be his best, and most controversial, yet. About a black detective who infiltrates the KKK and accidentally becomes the head of the chapter, the film is obviously loaded with the kind of racial tensions that will make it an immediate cultural touchstone when it releases later this year.
From the same studio who enjoyed success in backing a film with a similar approach in Get Out, BlacKkKlansman looks to be as funny as it is terrifying, even if it is said to be far more abrasive than Jordan Peele's mainstream smash hit.
While Lee might not have the best track record in recent years, his latest flick has already received a ridiculous amount of buzz on the festival circuit. Up for contention for the Palme d'Or at Cannes and winner of the Grand Prix, screenings have universally been followed by standing ovations, making it clear that the director still has it.
