20 Movies That Will Win Oscars In 2023
1. All Too Well
If you haven't heard of All Too Well, that's likely because it's not a feature film, but a short film written and directed by Taylor Swift, adapted from her 2012 song of the same name.
The short, starring Sadie Sink and Dylan O'Brien as an embattled couple, received strong acclaim upon release late last year, and according to a recent report, Swift has retained the services of a major consulting firm to control the film's awards campaign in the Live Action Short Film category.
Given that high-profile celebrities have won short film Oscars in the past - Kobe Bryant famously did in 2017 for his animated film Dear Basketball, and Riz Ahmed nabbed himself an Oscar for The Long Goodbye last year - it's often seen as an "easier" way for famous folk to win themselves Oscars.
After all, celebrities have a major leg-up in the short film fields, typically competing against lesser-known filmmakers without the visibility or resources to promote their work as aggressively - a fact that's proven controversial in recent years.
Even so, with Swift's short having recently been confirmed as Oscar-eligible, it's easy to imagine her running away with the gong outright on pure popularity alone.
To her credit, again, the short has been well received in general, even if it's hard not to feel for those up-and-coming filmmakers she's competing with.
