Andrew Dominik's films may be relatively divisive, but the last time he made a movie based on real people - The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - he directed Casey Affleck to a Best Supporting Actor nomination.

His upcoming Marilyn Monroe biopic for Netflix, Blonde, boldly casts Ana de Armas in the role of Monroe, with the Cuban-Spanish actress reportedly spending nine months with a dialect coach in order to subdue her natural accent and successfully imitate Monroe's voice.

If she pulls it off, expect de Armas to receive a Best Actress nomination and possibly even the win, while Best Adapted Screenplay and a handful of technical nods also aren't outside the realm of possibility.
