20 Movies Which Could Win Oscars In 2022

One of the biggest question marks in the 2022 Oscar race is Denis Villeneuve's Dune.

While sci-fi rarely performs well beyond crafts categories and Villeneuve is additionally wrangling with a tricky, niche novel, the Academy may ultimately be unable to ignore the film's impossibly epic scope and Villeneuve's masterful execution.

The film is unlikely to miss being nominated for Best Cinematography, Visual Effects, Costume Design, Production Design, Sound, Score, and if it's received well enough, it wouldn't be surprising to see nominations for Picture, Director, and Adapted Screenplay.

All in all, it's incredibly unlikely Dune walks away empty-handed with its evidently jaw-dropping technical prowess, though it'll have to fend off a ton of splashy blockbusters which were also held back from last year.
