20 Movies Which Could Win Oscars In 2022

Many eyebrows were raised last year when it was announced that Kristen Stewart would be playing Diana, Princess of Wales for an upcoming biopic, Spencer.

It was easy to question the casting and also whether yet another movie or TV show about Diana was really necessary, but then that first image of Stewart as Princess Di hit the web.

If nothing else, it is clearly a deeply transformative performance, and while much of it will hinge on Stewart's ability to pull off a convincing accent, she looks the part far more than anyone could've ever anticipated.

It'll help immeasurably that Spencer is being written by Oscar nominee Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things) and directed by the great Pablo Larraín, whose Jackie Kennedy biopic Jackie netted Natalie Portman a well-earned Best Actress nomination.

While Best Picture and Director are more dubious prospects, Best Actress for Stewart alongside Original Screenplay, Costume Design, Makeup and Hairstyling, Production Design, and Original Score (Johnny Greenwood) are all strong possibilities.
