20 Movies Which Could Win Oscars In 2022

Biopics are traditionally catnip to Oscar voters, and it's tough to imagine a world where Jennifer Hudson isn't nominated for starring as Aretha Franklin in her upcoming biopic Respect.

Oscar voters last rewarded Hudson with a Best Supporting Actress gong for her work in Dreamgirls back in 2007, so they'll certainly be eager to throw her a second Oscar, and the worthiness of the part certainly speaks for itself.

Given the lack of distinguished talents elsewhere, though, it's quite probable Respect will only score nominations for Hudson, Best Costume Design, and Makeup and Hairstyling.

Basically, it'll be this year's Judy, perhaps right down to taking home the Best Actress Oscar and nothing else.
