A futuristic city populated by animals is a great idea for a film world, so Zootopia is immediately intriguing, but Zootopia was even better than it sounds. It ended up being a smart, topical allegory about prejudice, which it's safe to say no-one saw coming.
It's still hard to know how they pulled off this mixture of a fast-paced, witty children's adventure movie and thought-provoking social commentary so well. Thanks to this great balance of elements Zootopia, like many of the best family films, really does offer something for all ages. The stunning animation and great voice cast don't hurt either.
This is a perfect movie for the whole family to watch together. If nothing else, you'll have a huge amount of fun spotting the many pop culture references to The Godfather, Breaking Bad and many more famous properties.
