6. Spaceman
With the recent release of Netflix's rock solid basketball drama Hustle, Adam Sandler seems to be having a bit of a moment on the streaming platform, eschewing the broad comedies for something more meaningful.
And Sandler is next set to follow suit with Spaceman, a sci-fi drama adapted from Jaroslav Kalfař's 2017 novel Spaceman of Bohemia. Sandler will play Jakub Procházka, a Czech orphan who goes on to become the country's first ever astronaut.
The kicker? It's being helmed by Emmy-winning Chernobyl director Johan Renck, and Sandler will star opposite Paul Dano, Carey Mulligan, Kunal Nayyar, and Isabella Rossellini.
The potential for this to put yet another dramatic feather in Sandler's cap is self-evident, and it'll be great to see him working with such celebrated talents as Dano, Mulligan, and Rossellini.
Spaceman releases later this year.
