3. Tom Hiddleston - Crimson Peak

Tom Hiddleston's performance as Loki in the Marvel universe may be reasonably credited with launching his career into the big leagues, but it's sort of a tonal outlier for him. He's really known as a dramatic actor who happens to be involved in a major superhero franchise. So it should come as no surprise to anyone that when he's not playing Loki, he's doing theater or period pieces or independent films. This year, he'll be teaming up with Guillermo del Toro (and isn't that lovely to say?) on a spooky, atmospheric horror film called Crimson Peak, which will also star Jessica Chastain, Charlie Hunnam, and Mia Wasikowska.
