20 Obscure Movies With Hilarious IMDB Descriptions

10. Black Days (2001)

"The classic story of "angst ridden artist meets psychotic misanthrope" takes a grisly, yet esoteric turn in this darkly comedic exploration of the film noir genre." Ah yes, the classic story; as classic as the star-crossed lovers, or the triumphant underdog, or the white knight coming to the rescue. Found in countless stories across all centuries, "angst ridden artist meets psychotic misanthrope" is one of the truly iconic themes of humankind. After all, Hamlet practically embodies both those qualities by himself.

9. Pelikaanimies (Pelicanman) (2004)

"Wanting to know the ways of people, a pelican turns into a gawky young man who soon learns to speak, thanks to his outstanding talent in imitation. He befriends Emil and Elsa, two children who--unlike adults - see that their new neighbour "Mr. Berd" is not human but a big bird wearing a suit. The Pelican Man lands a job at the opera and falls in love with a pretty ballerina, looking so much like a bird herself. Troubles start when adults too find out about "Mr. Berd's" ornithological origin." Wait, wait. So when you say "a big bird wearing a suit" are you saying that the pelican just put on a disguise of human clothes but didn't actually transform into a human? Or is this a magical pelican that inexplicably has the power to turn into a human? And either way, he of course chooses the not suspicious at all "Mr. Berd" as his alias when trying to masquerade as a human. And despite having literally just learned to speak, he somehow manages to land a job at the opera, where he falls in love with a ballerina who apparently looks like a bird (it should just be assumed that they are performing Swan Lake). But 100 points to Gryffindor for the phrase "Mr. Berd's ornithological origin."
