20 Predictions For This Oscar Season's Rotten Tomatoes Scores
7. Allied (66%)
Predicted Critical Consensus: "Though not without its contrivances, Allied mostly delivers on the promise of pairing Marion Cotillard and Brad Pitt as starcrossed lovers, and Robert Zemeckis' usual attention-to-detail is abundant in spades."
Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things, Eastern Promises, Seventh Son, Burnt) is an incredibly hit-and-miss writer, and the romantic-thriller genre is fairly new territory for Zemeckis, but the Cotillard-Pitt combination will probably still serve up enough period charm even if it feels like it could be one of this Oscar season's more underwhelming pictures.
Of course, it'd be great to be proven wrong, though the pic's lack of festival play over the next few months is going to leave that skepticism in the air until November's theatrical release.
