20 Predictions For This Oscar Season's Rotten Tomatoes Scores
2. Nocturnal Animals (57%)
Predicted Critical Consensus: "An ambitious take on Austin Wright's novel, Nocturnal Animals isn't as firm a sophomore effort as Tom Ford might hope for, but the strong ensemble mostly holds it together."
Fashion designer Tom Ford did an incredible job on his directorial debut, 2009's A Single Man, but the source material for his second feature is decidedly more challenging to transition to the big screen.
Sure, the cast is full of Oscar darlings in Jake Gyllenhaal, Naomi Watts, Michael Shannon and Laura Linney, but with Ford deciding to write the script himself this time (he co-wrote A Single Man), that could spell a more middling effort for something of this level of complexity.
