Whiplash was such a technically incredible film that it's hard not to be incredibly pre-hyped for Chazelle's follow-up, which reunites him with most of his below-the-line collaborators from his Best Picture-nominated debut.

What's been shown off in trailers so far looks astounding, especially the cinematography, performances, music and overall tone.

We know Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling already have great chemistry together from their work on Crazy Stupid Love, so this one would have to fall pretty hard not to be a mammoth success and major Oscar contender in almost every category.
