20 Sci-Fi Movies EVERY Film Fan Should Have Seen

'If it bleeds, we can kill it.'

A line that only might sound convincing if said correctly, you know shi*t's about to go down when it comes out of Arnold Schwarzenegger's mouth. Yes, Predator may be considered the world's biggest B movie, and the reason for that is simply because it never was a B movie - the special effects and headlining star surely gave that away. And yet it kept things simple throughout it, exhibiting more grit, conviction and impressive visuals than the majority of big-budget franchises could dream of.

A simple, linear narrative that never outstays its welcome, Predator uses all of that to its advantage -slowly heightening the tension as it goes on to make the brief 90-minute experience a thoroughly compelling and completely immersive one. If you haven't dug your nails into the edges of your seat by the time the credits roll, what are you even doing?

The Predator film series is certainly one of Hollywood's more ill-fated franchises because every attempt to produce a sequel over the past three decades has either failed to impress critics or audiences (or sometimes both), but that doesn't take away from this underrated horror gem in the slightest. And it's worth it alone just to see Arnie throw everything he can at the unstoppable "ugly motherf*cker".
