17. The Terminator Uses The Gun From Predator In Judgement Day
The scene in Terminator 2: Judgement Day when Arnold Schwarzenegger's T-800 uses a minigun to scare off the encroaching police force is iconic today, a gratuitous blaze of bullets and excess shell casings that inspired similar scenes in films like The Matrix. Originally, though, he was supposed to wield a humble MAC-10 to hold the fort. James Cameron changed his mind at the last minute and decided he wanted to see his star behind a gattling gun instead. The reason? Because the weapon they ended up using was the exact same one Arnie wielded in Terminator, and Cameron wanted to pay a deliberate homage to that earlier starring role for the actor. Plus he knew it looked badass.
