18. James Cameron Was On Sarah Connor's Answering Machine

The director of the first Terminator tends to prefer to stay behind the camera, but he made an exception for his low-budget directorial debut. Towards the beginning of the film Cameron has a cameo as the voice on Sarah Connor's answering machine, cancelling a date the two had €“ ironic considering his and actor Linda Hamilton's later marriage (ending in divorce). Cameron also has a visual cameo €“ something he doesn't do all that often either, unless you're talking about his submarine films €“ in the film. After Sarah Connor sees the news report about her second namesake being murdered, and tries to use the phone in the bar, he's the guy stood to her right having a good old butchers at her.
