Seriously, Terminator Genisys is really exerting itself to appeal to every Terminator fan there has ever been. Not content with leaping back to the eighties setting of the first film, with Kyle Reese now played by Jai Courtney but stealing the same shoes that Michael Biehn did back in the day, it's also got some Easter Eggs for the TV series fans. The Sarah Connor Chronicles is one of the more underrated entries in the Terminator franchise, a two-season TV show starring Summer Glau from Firefly as a new robot and Cersei Lannister as Sarah Connor. When that group do their time travel thing they appear in the middle of a freeway, much as Jai Courtney's Reese does in Genisys.
