Terminator: 20 Easter Eggs And References You Must See
13. The T-1000's Limp Was Real
Robert Patrick put a lot into playing the villainous, literally mercurial T-1000 in the second Terminator film. During pre-production of Judgement Day he had a rigorous training regime to make sure he could run at fast speeds over long periods without getting knackered, and studied the movements of sharks hunting for his movements through crowds. One little quirk of the T-1000's movements is a slight limp to his movements, which is never explained on-screen (after all, why would a self-replicating robot have a limp?). It turns out that's a real football injury Patrick suffered when he was younger, and ILM actually kept that limp intact when animating the fully-metal shots of the T-1000, to stay true to the actor.
