10. "Shut Up. You Had Me At Hello"
Tom Cruise plays the eponymous lead Jerry Maguire in this romcom/drama/sports flick that pulled in big bucks in the nineties, earning several Academy Award nominations and a win for Cuba Gooding Jr as Best Supporting Actor. It's an impressive film for so many reasons, yet it remains most famous for the scene in which Cruise confesses his true love for Renee Zellweger's character Dororthy Boyd. It's the movie moment that will forever be associated with curling up and sobbing with a big old tub of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. It's sicklier than a battered mars bar and remains the go-to sequence for those feeling the need to boost their belief in the existence of romance. It's a cringey line that some adore and some detest. We're gonna fall into the latter camp on this occasion.
