20 Terrible Razzie Mistakes - Corrected

19. Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice - Worst Director, Worst Actor (Twice) And Worst Screen Combo

Penguin Batman Returns
Warner Bros.

A terrible movie it may be, but Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice was picked on excessively.

The nominations for Worst Picture, Worst Supporting Actor (for Jesse Eisenberg's embarassing performance as Lex Luthor), Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel and Worst Screenplay were fine, but Worst Director, Worst Screen Combo and two Worst Actor nominations? Really?

That was just targeting an unpopular film, not 'rewarding' the worst of the year. Ben Affleck is great and Henry Cavill is decent as Batman and Superman respectively, while Zack Snyder directed with a good visual style.

Corrected:

Nine Lives, the Kevin Spacey talking-cat film, was a dreadful movie and that should've taken Worst Director; there should've been room for it in Worst Picture too, although Batman Vs. Superman deserved to keep its place in that category.

One of the Worst Actor nods should've gone to Marlon Wayans in Fifty Shades of Black and the other should've gone to the South African rapper Ninja (a member of Die Antwoord, a hip hop band), who gave a horrendously dire performance as himself in the sci-fi misfire Chappie. The Worst Screen Combo nomination should also have gone to Chappie for Ninja and his co-star/band-mate Yolandi.

In terms of the awards Dawn of Justice won, Worst Supporting Actor was fine, but it wasn't the worst of the year in Worst Screen Combo, Worst Rip-Off or Worst Screenplay. Those awards should've gone to Collateral Beauty, Fifty Shades of Black and Suicide Squad respectively.
