20 Things That Almost Completely Changed Harry Potter Movies
18. McGonagall Almost Lost Her Best Scene
Following the release of The Deathly Hallows Part II on Blu-Ray, JK Rowling admitted that she only included Professor McGonagall's face-off against Snape in the books as a second thought. Up until then, Harry himself would have stood toe-to-toe with the former Death Eater, but ultimately she decided McGonagall needed a chance to fight back against the repression of her powers:
"I dont like the marginalisation of women when the fighting breaks out. We get to fight too. I really wanted that. In fact, there was an earlier draft... I know there was at one point, it was Harry who took on Snape in that confrontation, and I really didn't want that to happen."
17. Lucius Almost Looked "Normal"
In his original design, Lucius Malfoy would have been far more nondescript, with short blonde hair. But basing his logic on the fact that Lucius would never allow himself to look like a simple Muggle, Jason Isaacs changed the intended costume, choosing the long blonde wig and ostentatious cloak that would go on to become so immediately iconic.Azkaban's New Design
