20 Things That Almost Completely Changed Harry Potter Movies
16. David Walliams Was Almost Barty Crouch Jnr
Though he appears for only a few minutes in total in The Goblet Of Fire, David Tennant's performance is one of the most profoundly successful in the entire film series. He is serpentine, creepy and idiosyncratic in the perfect blend, and the idea of someone else taking the role is unthinkable. But for a while David Walliams was considered for the role, which would probably have resulted in a terrible, pantomime version of the character, if his other roles are anything to go by.
15. Bruce Springsteen Almost Sang The Theme Tune
Inspired by reading the novels to his youngest son, Bruce Springsteen wore a song called "I'll Stand By You Always" that got as close to being included in the film as being filed with the US Copyright Office in 2001. Unfortunately for fans of The Boss, JK Rowling's contract specifically forbade the use of commercial songs - even those inspired by her work - and it was rejected.
