"In trying to write a team-based creative process, I wrote the one I know," said Nolan of putting together the Inception script. It shows, too: the group of dream thieves whom the film centres of are very clearly modelled on a film crew. Cobb is the director, Arthur is the producer, Ariadne is the production designer, Eames is the actor, Saito is the studio, and Fischer is the audience. Pretty clever, no?

Christopher Nolan does not walk onto a set without looking his finest. Much like how Sam Raimi directs in a full, formal suit and tie in homage to Alfred Hitchcock, Nolan demands his crew take their dress sense as seriously as the project they're working on. Either that or it's out of laziness, he decided a long time ago that "it was a waste of energy to choose anew what to wear each day".
