While the Narrator is in his hotel room, mindlessly watching in his semi-conscious state, there’s a shot of a group of waiters saying "Welcome!” and if you look carefully, Tyler - or at least Brad Pitt - is on the far right. As this is the last preview we see of Tyler before meeting him, the lingering presence could symbolise the character becoming powerful enough to start interacting with Norton’s character.
