7. Allowing Creative Freedom For Deadpool And Deadpool 2
Even in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds stood out as being the perfect actor to play Deadpool. But then they sewed the character's mouth shut, one f the most infamous decisions in comic book movie history.
However, when the Deadpool test footage leaked in 2014, the world got to see how good a Deadpool movie could be when the restrictions were off and he wasn't being shoehorned into another character's movie. Come 2016, and Fox release a fully-fledged Deadpool film.
As the opening credits of the film say the writers are the real heroes here. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick fashioned a script that stayed true to the character in the comics. There was violence, sex, swearing and fourth wall breaking. This is everything that is typical of the Deadpool character.
However, if FOX hadn't loosened the reigns on the X-Men series, we may not have got these two terrific comic book adaptations.
