17. Meryl Streep Is Kind Of In The Movie
During the opening credits of Alien³, there is a shot of Ripley with a facehugger attached to her face. Although this shot was meant to be performed by using a prosthetic of Sigourney Weaver's likeness, the actress was unavailable at the time. In a panic, the crew had to use the prosthetic of another actress.
Luckily, Meryl Streep was starring in the SFX-heavy comedy Death Becomes Her at the exact same time. Since a prosthetic was built for Streep's head, the Alien³ crew simply borrowed it for the facehugger scene.
What makes this circumstance all the more bizarre is that Meryl Streep was considered for the role of Ripley in the original 1979 film! She may have appeared in the franchise in a very roundabout way but the Oscar-winning performer is still technically in the Alien series.
