Aliens James Cameron
Fox/Warner Bros

Whilst this is an exaggeration, there is an aesthetic DNA shared between Aliens and Batman, which was released three years after Aliens.

Cameron filmed the hive sequences in an abandoned power station called Acton Lane in North West London, which possessed the atmosphere and menace that suited the film.

Much of the set was left abandoned, meaning arts of the hive were still present when Burton's team came on to film for Batman. It was used for the scene for the interior of Axis Chemicals, the place where joker famously falls into a vat of acid.
