20 Things You Didn't Know About Aliens

14. The Music Was Composed In Just Two Weeks

The chaos of the film shoot was not just relegated to the set. Cameron hired James Horner to compose the soundtrack for the film.

Horner came on to the set thinking the film was almost complete, only to find that Cameron was still editing the film, therefore making many of Horner's compositions redundant as the musical cues had changed. Horner had just two weeks to compose the soundtrack (he was originally promised six weeks), and had to use snippets from the original Alien soundtrack to paper over the cracks.

Horner and Cameron's relationship was so fraught on set, that the next time they would work together after Aliens was on Titanic in 1997, nearly a decade later.
