17. Harvey Dent Was Written Out Of The Script
Who could forget Tommy Lee Jones' portrayal of Two Face in Batman Forever, or perhaps even better, Aaron Eckhart's slow descent from upstanding political luminary to embittered murderous madman with a penchant for loose change in The Dark Knight?
Both were iconic in their own ways, but the initial plan was actually to have Harvey Dent's famous duplicitous alter-ego make his big screen debut several years earlier in Batman Returns after Billy Dee Williams played Dent in Batman in 1989.
In early drafts of the script, the character would have had a fairly central role, and would have suffered his trademark disfigurement - the point at which his entire character arc inverts like a stomach-churning, comic-turning barrel roll - in a taser-infused kiss with Catwoman.
Presumably, this would have set the wheels in motion for a third movie in which we would have seen Two Face pitting his wits against Keaton's Batman in a major way. Alas, what might have been...
