12. Carrie Coon Was Almost Prevented From Playing Margo Due To Her Role On The Leftovers
The role of Nick's twin sister Margo is planned by the fantastic Carrie Coon, in her first feature film role no less.
But the part almost ended up being played by a different actress due to Coon's commitments to her hit TV series The Leftovers.
Fox wasn't convinced that HBO would agree to push back the show's filming to accommodate her, and felt even having her meet Fincher would be a waste of time for all involved.
In the end everything was worked out, though, and Coon crushed her audition with Fincher a few days later. The rest, as they say, is history.
